There is as reason that iron is timeless, one of the earliest uses of cast iron railings in England was in 1710–14 at St Paul’s Cathedral. Iron is sturdy, but more than that it truly can be artistic and beautiful. Just because something is functional does not mean that it cannot be used to uplift your heart when you see it.

Iron Trivia – Cap Railing
When working with iron, often other materials are used to accentuate, offset, highlight and even decorate the finished product. This specific job had 2 separate landing and set of stairs to each, using ornate iron designs! However, which just a touch of wood it really stands out and looks great! The wood cap rail is the railing that a persons touches as they go up or down the stairs!Iron Trivia Question : Why is the handrail called a cap?Answer : It is called a cap like the cap on ones head. Railing caps give a railing a finished look, and also provide a secure safe fixture to hold while going up/down.
